Broussard Auto Group wants every visitor to be able to use this website and our dealership comfortably, whatever assistive technology they rely on. This statement describes what we have done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us if you hit a barrier.
1. Standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, are the internationally recognised benchmark for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. We currently consider this website to be substantially conformant, with the exceptions noted below.
2. Measures we have taken
- Semantic HTML structure with a single descriptive heading hierarchy on every page.
- A visible “Skip to main content” link as the first focusable element.
- Text and background colour combinations tested to meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body copy.
- Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Descriptive alternative text on informative images, and empty alt attributes on purely decorative ones.
- Form labels programmatically associated with their inputs, and error messages announced to assistive technology.
- Full respect for the operating system “reduce motion” preference, which disables animation and smooth scrolling.
- Responsive layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320-pixel viewport and at 200 percent zoom.
3. Known limitations
We would rather be honest than claim perfection:
- The embedded map on our contact page is supplied by a third party and its internal controls are not fully accessible. Our full address is provided as plain text immediately alongside it, and we will give directions by telephone on request.
- A small number of older vehicle photographs have alternative text that is functional but less descriptive than we would like. These are rewritten as inventory is refreshed.
- Documents supplied at delivery are currently printed. Large-print or electronic versions are available on request at no charge.
4. Accessibility at our Denver location
- Step-free entrance from the East 7th Avenue frontage.
- Accessible parking bay adjacent to the showroom door.
- Seating available throughout the customer waiting area.
- Staff able to bring paperwork to you rather than requiring movement between desks.
- Service animals welcome throughout the premises.
- Vehicles can be brought to the door for a test drive on request.
5. Reporting a barrier
If you encounter something on this website or at our dealership that you cannot use, please tell us. Email David@autodealer.claybroussard.com with the subject “Accessibility”, or call +1 (469) 916-9350. Include the page address and a description of the difficulty if you can. We acknowledge every report within two business days and aim to resolve issues within thirty days, or to explain why longer is needed and offer an alternative way to get the information you wanted.
6. Review schedule
This statement was prepared following an internal review of the website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using a combination of automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks. We repeat the review at least annually, and after any significant change to the site’s design or structure.
